‘The Cleveland Show’ is Officially Official

The Cleveland Show

Months after announcing a possible Family Guy spin-off starring Peter Griffin‘s soft-spoken black neighbor, Cleveland Brown, Fox has released the first look at the upcoming animated sitcom.

After divorcing his wife, Loretta, Cleveland, voiced by Mike Henry, sells his deli and is joined by his son Cleveland Jr. as he leaves Quahog, R.I. for sunny California to pursue his dream of becoming a minor league baseball scout. But his plans are derailed when he runs into his high school sweetheart during a visit to his Virginia hometown.

His intention is to pass through town . . . but he runs into a woman named Donna whom he carried a torch for in high school. But she never returned his love.

“She has a 16-year-old daughter, Roberta, who runs in the fast lane, and a 5-year-old son named Rollo, who’s streetwise and savvy to the ways of the world.

“At the end of the pilot, Cleveland and Donna are together and have combined their kids – like The Brady Bunch,” says Mr. Henry.

Mr. Henry created The Cleveland Show with Rich Appel through Seth McFarland’s $100-million production deal with Fox.

The Cleveland Show, debuts in 2009.
