JoJo Simmons, the son of Joseph “Reverend Run” Simmons and nephew of music mogul Russell Simmons, was arrested by narcotics cops in Washington Heights, NY following a marijuana purchase on Friday (May 8).
Cop observed the younger Simmons buy weed from a dealer and approached him as he sat rolling a blunt in his BMW. But JoJo, forgetting every episode of “Cops” he may have seen, tried to flea the scene, putting his car in reverse in a bid to evade arrest. No luck. The 19-year-old ended up hitting a parked car before throwing his car in drive and gunning it, only again to hit another parked car. But he didn’t give up or go quietly; instead he fought with the arresting cops (according to police).
The “Run’s House” star was booked on a variety of charges including: criminal use of drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of marijuana, attempted reckless endangerment and resisting arrest. But was released on his own recognizance on Saturday (May 9) by a Manhattan judge.
