Well, it was a good run. The Easy-E role in 2015’s Straight Outta Compton. Acting alongside Samuel L. Jackson in 2017’s Kong: Skull Island. A prominent part in 2018’s SuperFly. And a regular spot on the Showtime series, “The Chi”.
But it looks like things are coming to a screeching halt for actor Jason Mitchell who has been dropped from Netflix’s Desperados after an alleged off-set incident. After an investigation of the incident, producers were uncomfortable moving forward with the project with Mitchell attached. He was promptly let go. “The Chi” followed suit, dropping him from the series.
Though full details of the “incident” have not yet been made public, it was serious enough for Mitchell’s agency, UTA, and management, Authentic Talent & Literary Management, to also drop him. While it’s not uncommon for actors to be booted from projects for various reasons, including conduct. Agencies and management rarely take actions to distance themselves from clients.
This new allegation follows accusations Mitchell sexually harassed several actresses on “The Chi,” including Tiffany Boone, who played his girlfriend on the show. In 2016 it was alleged he body slammed a woman at the Ritz Carlton in Boston after she rejected his advances.
