In a move that should have happened a year ago FOX has decided not to renew its prison drama, “Prison Break”.
The Wentworth Miller-led show followed a group of escaped cons on the run from a mysterious shadow government agency, and was well received by viewers and critics during it’s first season. Things took a bad turn this season as the show seemed to “jump the shark” with an increasingly implausible, direction-less storyline.
“The show has just played out. You get to a point creatively where you feel all the stories have been told, and you want to end strong and not gimp out in the end of the season,” said FOX president Kevin Reilly.
FOX will wrap up the series later this year when it airs the remaining 4 episodes followed by a possible 2-hour movie.
