Author Todd Gallagher is demanding justice after he says the William Morris Endeavor Entertainment agency ripped off him television show idea.
Gallagher, who is represented by William Morris Endeavor , claims he was approached by exes at the talent agency to turn a book he had written into a television show. In the book, “Andy Roddick Beat Me with a Frying Pan” Todd competed against a number of professional athletes who agreed to play with handicaps, such as Roddick using a frying pan instead of a tennis racket – hence the titled of the book.
Gallagher contends William Morris Endeavor pitched the show idea to ABC without him and replaced the main character, him, with basketball star Shaquille O’Neal. A letter to William Morris Endeavor sent Gallagher’s attorneys states the company “intentionally cut him out … creatively and financially.”
The Shaquille O’Neal show, titled Shaq Vs., has since been picked up by ABC and debuted last night (Aug 18).
Gallagher lawyers are said to be seeking a settlement with the agency.
