Singer R. Kelly is the target of a lawsuit filed in Missouri federal court by a private investigator seeking payment for work he did for the “I Believe I Can Fly” hit maker.
Charles Freeman states in court papers that during Kelly’s trial on child pornography charges, where the singer was accused of having sexual intercourse with an under aged girl and video taping it, he was hired to the tune of $300,000 to “obtain and/or recover certain tapes” that may have incriminated Kelly.
According to Freeman he did his part but never got compensated for his services.
His suit seeks the original amount for his services with interest, as well as damages and court costs.
A jury acquitted R. Kelly on all counts of child pornography in June 2008.
