Just months after Meek Mill revealed his co-ownership of sports apparel retailer, Lids, Migos rapper Quavo, has been announced as a brand ambassador for the company and is set to release a limited-edition exclusive hat line, the first of numerous projects.
Meek’s involvement in Lids, North America’s largest hat retailer, was announced over the summer, as he partnered up with Michael Rubin’s Fanatics company and investment firm Ames Watson on an ownership deal. In addition to co-ownership, Meek serves as head of creative strategy. The Philly rapper will also be releasing his own headwear line in the fall of 2020.
When asked about this new venture, Quavo says, “I most definitely feel like I bring the culture to Lids – Meek, to me, brings the streets to Lids.” In addition to working with Lids, the Atlanta rapper will be executive producing an animated children’s series, a venture with Marginal Mediaworks, Quality Control Music and Motown. The as yet untitled show is geared toward kids aged 8-12 and focuses on Atlanta’s hip-hop culture scene. “I’ve loved animation my whole life… It will definitely reflect the creativity. Love and families around the NAWF side of Atlanta where we grew up.”
