Rappers Ludacris and Young Jeezy were recently spotted at a campaign rally for Jim Martin, who’s in a tight run-off race against incumbent Saxby Chambliss for the Georgia U.S. senate seat.
If Martin wins he would bring the Democratic Party one seat closer to a 60-vote, filibuster-proof majority. After the November 4 election democrats hold 58 seats in the Senate. A martin win and a favorable outcome in the Minnesota Senate recount would give president-elect Barack Obama the ability to quickly push through his agenda and the democratic party unmatched power for the first time in three decades.
