Rapper Joaquin Phoenix, yes rapper, had a confrontation with an audience member during a show at a Florida club early this morning (video below).
The 34-year-old star of “Walk the Line,” who has put his acting career on the back burner in order to pursue his hip hop ambitions, was scheduled to take the stage at the Liv nightclub at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel in Miami last night (Mar. 11), but didn’t appear until 2 in the morning. One man not satisfied with Phoenix’s performance decided to loudly voice his displeasure in the middle of Phoenix’s set. The outburst caused the heavily bearded Phoenix to leap from the stage and the heckler, at one point yelling, “We have a bitch in the audience. I’ve got $1 million in the bank, what have you got.” Security acted quickly, subduing Phoenix and dragging him off stage.
The incident was captured on film by Phoenix’s brother-in-law, actor Casey Affleck (“Gone Baby Gone”), who is documenting the actor’s venture into rap music.
