C-Murder, real name Corey Miller, was found guilty in 2009 of the 2002 murder of 16-year-old Steve Thomas at a Louisiana nightclub and sentenced to life in prison. It was the second time in six years that Miller had been found guilty of the murder. The first conviction, in 2003, was overturned after it was discovered that prosecutors withheld information from the defense.
Over the weekend Kardashian West made the case for re-examining Miller’s case in a series of Twitter posts:
“On January 18, 2002 a tragedy occurred when a young man was killed. The next day Corey Miller was arrested for the murder.” She continued “[Miller] was sentenced him to life in prison. If his trial was today, the jury would have had to be unanimous for him to be convicted.”

The jury convicted Corey 10-2 and he was sentenced him to life in prison. If his trial was today, the jury would have had to be unanimous for him to be convicted.

According to Kardashian West, there have been new developments in the case that could lead to Miller’s freedom, or at the least, a retrial.
Since his trial, witnesses have recanted, new evidence of his potential innocence has come to light, and there are claims of jurors being pressured into voting to convict.

Miller seemed appreciative of the work Monica has done on his behalf, and for getting Kardashian-West to shine a light on his circumstance, writing on social media.
“Moses when they took me I told you go live your life because you didn’t deserve what the system was about to do to me. You still stood for me, without me asking created a team that could change the outcome of a very unfair fate! You been Forever Tru , One in a Lifetime!! @monicadenise got em saying #FreeCoreyMiller.”

“@cmurder & I are bonded by truth, honesty & Loyalty ! There’s never been a promise broken & I vowed to seek help! After a tearful conversation with @lala she and I spoke to @kimkardashian & I explained why I KNEW Corey was innocent… I shared that There are lots of issues in Corey’s case that speak to his innocence including witnesses recanting their testimony, dna not matching & a 10-2 jury!
Corey deserves to come home to his girls and be the father they need, be the artist & leader he’s always been as well as spread hope to those who have also experienced this..”
Miller’s conviction and incarceration capped off a successful music career as a member of the No Limit Records label, headed by Miller’s brother, Percy “Master P” Miller. No Limit’s popularity eventually paved the way for other Louisiana-based artists like Lil Wayne and the entire Cash Money crew, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and Kevin Gates.
