Don’t call it a comeback! Ok, it’s a comeback, but a good one. R&B group En Vogue has started work on their next album.
The 4-woman group (Dawn Robinson, Terry Ellis, Cindy Heron-Bragg and Maxine Jones) reintroduced themselves on stage at the 2009 Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana this past Sunday (July 5) with plans to release a studio album later this year, the first album to include all four original members since 1996 –”Don’t Let Go (Love)”, which was featured on the soundtrack to the film Set It Off, was their last group record.
In addition, they’re hoping to score a reality TV deal chronicling their comeback. “It’s just another venue to get our music out there. The industry has changed. It’s not just about getting a record deal anymore. It’s about exposure,” says Robinson with Ellis adding, “Twenty years in the business is a long time and we’ve had a lot of fun in the process, but there’s also been some ups and downs and we’d like to share some of that.”
Damn near 20 years later and Cindy still looks good. Still remember that chump Omar Epps having his way with her in Juice. Damn you Omar! Dammn youuuu!!
