Actor/producer Mark Wahlberg was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital on Friday (Aug 14) after inhaling fake smoke on the set of his latest film the night before.
Wahlberg had been filming a scene on Thursday (Aug 13) for the film The Fighter that required a smoke machine to add atmosphere on the set. Wahlberg, 38, apparently inhaled too much of the gas and woke up the following morning gasping for air.
He was rushed to the hospital where doctors hooked him up to a breathing machine to help clear his lungs.
He was released later that day and promptly returned to work on the film.
In The Fighter, due to be released in 2011, is based on the life of Boston boxer ‘Irish’ Mickey Ward and stars Wahlberg as Ward and Christian Bale as Ward’s half-brother and trainer Dicky Eklund.
