Will Smith’s superhero vehicle, Hancock, pulled in an incredible $185 million dollars in worldwide sales.
The flick, about a drunken, unlikable superhero who causes millions of dollars worth of damage in his half hearted attempts at stopping crime, opened at #1 at the box office despite being panned by critics and managed to rake in over $41 million dollars in the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before the holiday weekend, and an additional $66 million during the weekend.
Hancock proved just as lucrative in the overseas markets, debuting at #1 in 47 of 50 markets, with a $78 million-dollar total box office draw.
