Police detain comedian Katt Williams after 911 caller describes man-with-gun outside Wal-Mart.

It seems as if trouble has been following Katt Williams around lately. In the latest incident, police were called to a Wal-Mart in Georgia on Friday (Dec. 4) to intervene in a conflict between Williams and another man.

Police arrived at the Newnan, GA Wal-Mart after a 911 caller reported seeing a man with a gun. According to police, Katt was confronted by the parents of his new girlfriend, Yolanda, who say they were concerned about their daughter’s well being.

Katt and the couple, Tony and Shirley Williams (no relation), were questioned at the scene. After which Tony and Shirley Williams were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. A third person was also arrested for marijuana possession. Cops searched Katt’s vehicle but found nothing suspicious.

Newnan’s Police Chief Douglas L. Meadows later stated that, “there are no charges on Katt Williams at this time and we do not expect there to be any charges. We checked some firearms and they were returned to Katt Williams. We’re still unclear whether there was a gun pulled on someone or not. Three people have been arrested, and as far as I know that will be the end of it.”

Speaking to Action News 2 about the incident the 36-year-old comedian said, “This guy’s saying he’s her boyfriend and he’s brought his family with him. Now one of them has a holster and a pocket full of bullets and a pistol. So I tell them, ‘Let’s step outside.’

“Once they get me outside and there’s six of them and one of me. Then all of a sudden, they calling the sheriff to tell the sheriff I got guns and I’m the problem.

“This is a witch hunt, it’s getting to the point where I feel like I’m being persecuted because this don’t make no sense,” he said. “You can’t act like I’m a troublemaker, I been here for two months, I ain’t been to a club yet.”

Katt still faces legal trouble after being accused of burglarizing the home of music mogul Barry Hankerson. He was arrested last month and freed after posting $40,000 bail.
