Former heavy weight champion Mike Tyson was hit with a $25 million lawsuit on Monday (Oct. 18) by Antonio Echevarria, the paparazzi that Tyson got into a scuffle with at Los Angeles International Airport last year.
RadarOnline reports that Echevarria’s court papers accuse Tyson of attacking him and threatening, “I will kill you.”
The November 2009 incident resulted in Tyson being taken to the LAPD’s 77th Station for misdemeanor battery, while Echevarria took a trip to a local hospital due to a “minor laceration to his forehead.”
But in his suit Echevarria states that Tyson and two employees at the airport made false statements to the police, resulting in him being taken into custody too.
Tyson’s attorney Shawn Chapman Holley has stated that Tyson acted in self-defense, “protecting his child” from the aggressive paparazzi.
