Nick Gordon, ex-boyfriend of Whitney Houston’s deceased daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, has dead of an apparent drug overdose.
Gordon was taken in at twelve years old by the late signer. Years later he and Brown would make headlines as they began an intimate relationship that Houston’s family would go on to call controlling and inappropriate.
In January 2015 Brown was found unconscious in a bathtub in a townhouse in Georgia she shared with Gordon. Tests revealed a toxic mix of morphine, cocaine, alcohol and prescription drugs in her system. She spent six months in a coma, never regaining consciousness. She died on July 26, 2015. The family faulted Gordon for Brown’s death.

On New Year’s day Gordon’s attorney, Joe S. Habachy, confirmed that his client passed away, and alluded to Gordon’s drug use as a possible contributor,
“My heart is heavy today after learning that my long time client Nick Gordon died … while I cannot speak to the specific circumstances of his death, I can say that it’s been truly heartbreaking to have witnessed first hand the total devastation that drug addiction has wreaked upon a group of young friends, all of whom were loved and had immense potential.
“He worked hard to hold his head up and stay sober and … he genuinely wanted a happy healthy life with his family more than anything else. My heart goes out to the family and friends Nick leaves behind and to any other families dealing with the losses and heartache caused by drugs.”
Gordon’s brother, Junior Gordon, also confirmed his death, writing on Facebook, “God why did I have to lose my brother on New Year.”
It’s alleged Gordon was at home using drugs with a group of friends before passing out. He was driven and left at a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
