“I’d caught a cold the day before and had a bad cough. I’d been taking DayQuil and using Vicks VapoRub all day. When I went to bed that night I had a seizure. But I didn’t come out of it the way I usually do,” Ross said in the book. “My breathing was all f—ed up. At around 3:30 in the morning the girl I was with went downstairs and told Tomcat I had s–t myself and was foaming at the mouth.”
Rick Ross had suffered a number of seizures in 2018, but the rapper and his team remained hush about the cause, but in his new book, Hurricanes: My Life Is A Movie, Ross goes into detail about health effects he suffered from using drugs. Speaking to PEOPLE, Ross said a seizure this particular night was a revelation,
“When I woke up in the hospital and I had so many people around me, so many homies, it felt like I was in V.I.P. or some s—t. But it was more like ‘Damn, we gotta do some special things.'”
The book, co-written with Neil Martinez-Belkin, is an extended look into Ross’ life growing up in Carol City in Miami Gardens, Florida during the 80s, chart-topping success in music, and pitfalls and successes along the way.
Hurricanes: My Life Is A Movie goes on sale September 3.
