R&B singer and reality TV star, Teairra Mari was arrested early Saturday morning in New York City for drunk driving.
Mari, 31-year-old, was busted behind the wheel of a Dodge Charger at the Queens-Midtown Tunnel at 3 a.m. As she sailed through the tunnel, police observed her vehicle was missing the passenger-side front wheel and the front bumper was hanging off its mounting, dragging, and creating sparks on the pavement.
According to TMZ, Mari “reeked of booze,” and “had trouble maintaining her balance” after being stopped by the police. A check of her driver’s license discovered it was either suspended or revoked.
After blowing a 0.304 on a breathalyzer test (3x the legal limit), Mari, who had been ordered to have an ignition interlock on her car following a previous DWI arrest, was arrested and charged with DWI, violation of court-ordered ignition interlock, illegal operation of a vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and illegally tinted windows.
Mari has a history of alcohol abuse, documenting her struggles on Love & Hop Hop.
Mari has also been embroiled in legal trouble. She’s currently engaged in an ever-escalating legal battle with 50 Cent. In January of this year, a judge ordered her to pay 50’s legal fees after she sued him for publishing a leaked sex video of Mari’s then-boyfriend Akbar Abdul-Ahad ejaculating on her face.
