Hugh Dane has passed away.
Dane’s death was announced in a posting by The Inner City Cultural Center on Facebook.Known for his roles in films like Bridesmaids (2011) and Little Fockers (2010) and smaller TV appearances in Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Carmichael Show, Dane got his acting break on the TV series, Hunter. Over the years Dane starred in a number of TV shows including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, Martin, The Steve Harvey Show, Monk, The West Wing, and a recurring role on Roc.
Dane’s film credits also included Ricochet, alongside Denzel Washington and The Visit, starring Hill Harper, Billy Dee Williams, and Marla Gibbs.His most memorable role was that of Hank the security guard on The Office. Rainn Wilson, who starred as Dwight on the series, tweeted about Dane’s passing, “RIP Hugh Dane, aka Hank the security guard,” Wilson wrote. “He was one of the greats. So kind, funny, talented. We will all miss him. Donations can be made in his name to: innercityculturalcenter.org.”

Dane was 75 years old.
