Nas and the Make-A-Wish Foundation got together yesterday (Mar. 5) to help 13-year-old Darnell Hicks realize his dream of meeting the Queens, NY rapper.
Hicks suffers from a form of muscular dystrophy called Duchenne which causes the muscles in the body to gradually degenerate and has been confined to a wheelchair since he was 10.
Make-A-Wish arranged for Hicks to fly from his home in Susquehanna Township, Pennsylvania to Los Angeles where he attended a Nas concert and had a chance to meet with the “I Can” artist backstage afterwards. The foundation has also arranged for him enjoy some time at Disneyland and Universal Studios.
Hicks, who was diagnosed with Duchenne when he was 2, will undergo scoliosis surgery in the spring. Suffers of the disease don’t usually live past their 20s.
