Fans of hip hop all over the world are still mourning and celebrating the life of rapper Mac Miller, over a year after his passing. Miller was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home in September 2018. Cause of death, a lethal cocktail of alcohol, fentanyl, and cocaine.
While fans continue to hold Miller in high esteem, apparently not everyone feels the same. Goldlink Crew, a former friend to Miller, took to Instagram, posting a lengthy note praising and bashing the late rapper.
In the post Goldlink claims he and the late rapper didn’t always get along, but that they always supported the other in their musical endeavors. Goldlink writes, “what made you and I so special was that we weren’t always on the best of terms.”
Goldlink also claimed that Miller may have stolen a record that he played for Miller before his death, a song that is very similar to Miller’s, Dang ft. Anderson Paak.
According to Goldlink, pieces of his song we’re allegedly taken and used by Miller.
The entire ordeal is confusing, with Goldlink ending his post with words of praise for Miller after pointing out the musical copycat.
All this didn’t sit well with Anderson Paak. Miller’s collaboration partner took little time defending his late friend and their song against Goldlink’s allegations. In a now deleted IG post (screen shots below) Paak writes, “If Devine feminine was such a blue print of your record then tell me where the plaques are for whatever your s*** was called!! Mac brought your a** on tour and opened up his fan base to you when you had nothing and this the type of appreciation you give?”
Goldlink hasn’t responded to Paak, but, as of the time of this artcle, hasn’t deleted his post on IG either.
