T.I. tried to backtrack on comments he made a few weeks ago about going to the doctor’s office with his daughter to make sure she is still a virgin.
On Jada Pinkett Smith’s talk show, Red Table Talk TI tried to explain himself and his comments.
“I came to clear up any misconceptions that have been surrounding how we interact [as] parent and what is appropriate and inappropriate,” he began, describing the conversation he had as “very joking”.
“From a place of truth, I began to embellish and exaggerate and I think a lot of people took it extremely literal,” he added, explaining that while at the time he didn’t understand the sensitivities surrounding what he was speaking about, he “absolutely” does now.
Today, @Tip and @TinyMajorMama are at the Red Table for an honest conversation about his recent controversial comments. #RedTableTalk is streaming now, only on @FacebookWatch — https://t.co/7gOGottQkZ pic.twitter.com/fslH8kdt5W

TI’s daughter was apparently mortified by her father’s comments and expressed that to him and that’s a major reason he is now trying to explain himself.
“She did have a problem with me talking about it however, and I understand that, and I am incredibly apologetic to her for that,” he said. “She understands my intentions and she knows who I am, who I’ve always been.”
Despite his apologies to his daughter, the rapper still thinks it’s ok for his son to have relations with women and if he gets a woman pregnant, it’s the woman’s problem, not his son’s. He also talked about black women being the most disrespected, which many fans on social media found ironic knowing that he has cheated on his current wife Tiny, many times over the years.
